Hot and Steamy

We have just spent a wonderful weekend with our two teenage children in Paris.  The Hotel Ascot was in a fantastic location within walking distance of the Louvre and access to anywhere via the Metro. The room itself was very warm and stuffy and its appearance was extremely shabby. The room was in desperate need of decoration. The trouser press wiring was hanging out and the heater was stuck together with adhesive tape.  Whilst a kettle and cups were generously provided, there was no tea/coffee, milk or sugar to put in the cups!  Room cleaning services were good and fresh towels were provided daily.  Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and reception was manned 24 hours a day.  Luggage could be left in a store room after checking out which was a useful service.
